Scattering amplitudes and AdS/CFT
Scattering amplitudes in the maximally supersymmetric N = 4 gauge theory are known to possess some remarkable features. The reasons for this are not completely understood, but some possible candidates are: the integrability properties of the theory, the existence of a gravitational dual and the existence of a twistor space description. I will not try to give a detailed description of the N = 4 ...
متن کاملHELICITY AND PLANAR AMPLITUDES IN PION-PROTON SCATTERING AT 6.0 GeV/c
In addition to optimal conditions, invariant laws of Lorentz, parity and time reversal are imposed to find the relation between observables (spin rotation parameters) and bilinear combination of helicity amplitudes in pion-proton elastic scattering at 6.0 GeV/c. By normalizing the differential cross-section to unity, the magnitudes of helicity amplitudes and the angle between them are dete...
متن کاملTree Scattering Amplitudes *
The spin-4/3 fractional superstring is characterized by a chiral algebra involving a spin-4/3 current on the world-sheet in addition to the energy-momentum tensor. These currents generate physical state conditions on the fractional superstring Fock space. Scattering amplitudes of these physical states are described which satisfy both spurious state decoupling and cyclic symmetry (duality). Exam...
متن کاملBeables/Observables in Classical and Quantum Gravity
Observables ‘are observed’ whereas beables just ‘are’. This gives beables more scope in the cosmological and quantum domains. Both observables and beables are entities that form ‘brackets’ with ‘the constraints’ that are ‘equal to’ zero. We explain how depending on circumstances, these could be, e.g., Poisson, Dirac, commutator, histories, Schouten–Nijenhuis, double or Nambu brackets, first-cla...
متن کاملScattering amplitudes with open loops.
We introduce a new technique to generate scattering amplitudes at one loop. Traditional tree algorithms, which handle diagrams with fixed momenta, are promoted to generators of loop-momentum polynomials that we call open loops. Combining open loops with tensor-integral and Ossola-Papadopoulos-Pittau reduction results in a fully flexible, very fast, and numerically stable one-loop generator. As ...
